Nurse’s Notes

By Cindy Hudock, RN, BSN, CSN
School Nurse (ext. 205)

Please call the school by 10am if your child is going to be out of school.  You can leave a message on my voicemail at any time of the day or night.  If you know your child is going to be out due to an appointment, trip, etc. please be sure to send in a written note ahead of time.

The fluoride rinse program will begin in October for
first through sixth grades.  You may withdraw or start your child in the program at any time during the school year.

It is recommended to have physical exams when your child is in
second and fifth grade.  Forms will be going home thru school.  Reminder to fifth grade parents that when your child turns 11, they will need a Tdap and the Meningitis vaccine.  Documentation of the vaccine is needed before your child enters 6th grade.

Preschool parents,
this is a reminder that the state is requiring that all preschool students have the flu vaccine between September and December in order to attend preschool.  This is the time to contact your physician to set up an appointment.  Documentation of the vaccine is needed by the school.  Please bring it in as soon as your child receives the vaccine to help us limit the amount of phone calls that we will have to make to get the reports.

We have students with various
food allergies in our school.  Their reactions range from hives to life threatening anaphylaxis.  We continue to use a nut free and a milk/nut free table during lunches.  Our lunch monitors will guide your child regarding sitting at these tables.
